PROJECT LUSCOMBE
N72004
1946 8A/E SILVAIRE

On August 12, 2003 I purchased Vintage Air Restoration's first project and in two trips over the course of the week I managed to get it and all it's associated parts and pieces transported to the VAR facility (my back yard) and set up in a temporary shelter. The aircraft is a 1946 Luscombe 8A that was converted to an E model with an 85 hp C-85-12F engine and wing tanks. It's all metal and has about 1600 hours of total airframe time throughout a very intersting history that has now spanned 57 years (the airplane's birthday was August 14)

Disclaimer: This is not a technical "how to" document. It is not a fancy website and never will be (I can't justify the time). This is simply, for the most part, a collection of pictures, with witty "Irish humor" captions that may, or may not, be of any use or entertainment to anyone. The main purpose of this chronicle is so that far flung family and friends can watch me squander my time and hard earned money on something as frivolous as the restoration of a tiny, frail, fifty seven year old flying machine of unquestioned beauty.
That is all.
